Update Announcement on MEPPI’s Latest Investment
As part of MEPPI’s latest strategic investment, we are building a state-of-the-art Power Electronics Center and Power Electronics Lab at our existing Warrendale, PA facilities.
High voltage power electronics systems, such as FACTS and HVDC, are key enabling technologies of the transition to clean energy. The creation of the new Power Electronics Lab (PEL) will consist of investing in a High Voltage System Real-Time Simulator (RTS) testing facility. This will enhance MEPPI’s simulation and testing capabilities for STATCOM and next-generation FACTS and HVDC technologies.
Through the PEL facility, MEPPI’s customers will be able to participate in comprehensive testing and witness FACTS and HVDC equipment performance. The lab will be able to support the design, testing, and simulation of Inverter Based Resources (IBRs) and their impact on the evolving power grid. Engineers will also receive technical training from MEPPI’s local product experts and receive hands-on operation and maintenance training.
By having localized engineering expertise and testing capabilities at the PEL, MEPPI will be able to bring the next generation of FACTS and HVDC products to help our customers build a stronger grid that will serve growing and critical loads while also supporting the transition to sustainable energy resources.
